Gabe’s mom, Cassie, reached out to me a few weeks ago, before the end of the Teddy Bear Drive to tell me that Gabe had asked his friends to bring stuffed animals to his birthday party, but not just because he loves to cuddle them. He heard our promo for our Teddy Bear Drive and that we were giving them to kids in the hospital that wanted something to hug while they were get procedures done, and he wanted to do something to help!

The small problem, his birthday party was going to be the day AFTER we took all the stuffed animals to the hospital!

I told them to bring them anyway, and if I was here at the time, I’d show them around the studio! I’m glad I did, because not only was Gabe incredibly polite (the boy had arms FULL of gift bags of stuffed toys and was still trying to hold the door open for his mom and I), but he was a GREAT interviewee! Gabe told me after the interview that he had spent some time in his hospital, himself, so he obviously understands how kids feel when they have to be somewhere they don’t want to be! His generous ask of his friends brought in 37 more soft, squeezable friends for kids in the hospital! THANK YOU Gabe, Cassie, and EVERYONE who donated bears in 2017! You brought SO MANY SMILES to sick and injured kids!
