The National Toy Hall of Fame in New York just announced this year’s finalists, including Nerf, Transformers, Uno, coloring books, and bubble wrap. The winners will be announced on November 10th. I spent many, many hours as a child endlessly bothering my mom and grandmother to play UNO, so I am thrilled to see it up in the running (simply because I know I wasn’t the only one obsessed now).
Here are the 12 finalists . . . only two or three of them will actually get voted into the Hall of Fame later this year. Care Bears . . . Nerf . . . pinball . . . Dungeons and Dragons . . . Clue . . . coloring books . . . Transformers . . . swings . . . UNO . . . Fisher-Price Little People . . . Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots . . . and bubble wrap. Yes, bubble wrap. Well let’s admit it, who doesn’t like to pop bubble wrap?
The three toys that were inducted last year were the Super Soaker . . . Twister . . . and puppets. This year’s picks will be announced on November 10th. I am guessing #bubblewrap will be trending on Twitter soon, but go @realUNOgame!
