My Facebook newsfeed wouldn’t stop filling up with pictures of my friends who had tried the new Burger King Mac and Cheetos fried Macaroni and Cheese, and despite trying to avoid them, yesterday after work, I was STARVING, and there was Burger King. So why not. After a short wait, I had fresh-from-the-fryer pieces to try. “Wait until you get home” I told myself. I wanted a better place to review them than my car.
As you can see, I failed that mission. My car was FILLED with the wonderful aroma of delicious cheese and I was unable to control my actions. Now, I’m a girl who likes Mac and Cheese a little more than an almost-30 year old should, so these were already difficult to resist. A bar I used to work at served Mac and Cheese bites, which were fried Mac and Cheese, and it was mostly used for a kids menu item, but you could order it as an appetizer, too, and man I LIVED on that stuff. Now take that and instead of normal fried-food breading, you bread it in CHEETO DUST??? Sold.
And the verdict is….
In my best Janice from Friends voice. Oh. My. Gawd.
They could have used cheap Mac and Cheese that barely tastes like it. They didn’t. It’s gooey and fabulous and oh so cheesy.
There is so much cheeto dust that you still get to lick your fingers afterward as if you just ate a bag of Cheetos.
All in all, I wish I hadn’t gone to Burger King yesterday, because I’m now doomed to buy these every single day until I die. Or until they decide this menu item is temporary and RUIN MY LIFE FOREVER BY TAKING IT OFF THE MENU!
Sorry. That was dramatic. I just really love cheese.
