I will admit, while I try to be 100% real on air, there’s one thing I tend to keep off the air: I struggle with depression and anxiety. I keep it off air because my job is to make your day, and telling you every anxious thought that runs through my brain is either just going to trigger your own anxieties, or bring you down, and that’s the opposite of what I am trying to accomplish.
I’m more open on my personal social media.
Today’s accomplishment: I was SUUUUUUUPER stressed out today with way too much to do, but I did most of it and I DIDN’T CRY! #GoMe

What’s equivalent to Xanax when my anxiety is through the roof? Kittens.

And my mental health has been in worse shape after I had a REALLY bad break up with someone I loved as both a boyfriend AND my best friend, which I absolutely have NOT hidden from social media.
Sooooo poll. You’re dating someone. It’s your birthday. They take a call from their ex. A long and serious discussion ensues. They end up missing the movie you were going to (I didn’t I went alone.) forgivable offense? I’ll answer questions.#AskingForAFriend

Okay that tweet wasn’t really the OFFICIAL end, but that situation was the beginning of the end. Maybe I’ll tell ya that full story someday. But losing the person you thought might have been “the one” AND your best friend in one bad situation put me in a pretty bad place for a while.
If there’s one thing I have, it’s a platform to say that YOU ARE NOT ALONE if you’re struggling! I’ve been really low, and I’ve had times where I wondered what the point of being on this planet was, but I’m fighting every day. I may not know you, but I understand you. You are valuable. You are wonderful. You are WORTHY of love.
I started therapy yesterday. This is my second try at it, it didn’t do much for me the first time (other than put me into medical debt), and medications I tried made me WORSE for the wear (for the record: medications CAN help, I just tried two and I was tired of trying), but I’m tired of feeling down, so I’m trying to take an active role in getting better!
Anyway, I just wanted to share something personal, because you listen to me every day, and I feel like you are my friend. Thank you for being there for me. *hug*
