Another week, another post, and I’m really starting to get into it all! I’m already seeing results on the scale, even if I’m not quite seeing the difference in the mirror yet! I’ve lost 4.4lbs so far, and I’m starting to form some early habits! I went grocery shopping yesterday after planning another week of meals and snacks, and I’m taking the dietitian’s advice.
I am still trying my hardest, and in theory, the stronger my heart gets with cardio activity, the harder it’ll be to stay in the Red Zone. I was still disappointed when last Tuesday I hit 530 calories burned, and then last Wednesday I only burned 417! That’s over 100 less calories! Plus my average heart rate fell into the high Yellow, and not mid Orange like it should, so I was a little bummed after last week.
This morning, I started out my week right by going to another BurnZone, and I wanted to CRUSH it today! I went in ready and excited! I finally got my own monitor, which has an app, so I can tell my Zones with ANY workout I do (I’m definitely going to use it during speed treadmill workouts for my Half-Marathon training.) The minute I had my monitor connected, I started jogging in place! I wanted as little time as possible in Blue and Green, and I wanted an appropriate amount of Yellow, Orange, and Red. Guess what? I DID crush it! At the end of each class, it will show a ranking of the top 3 women and top 3 men in each class, and I was #1 today! In a class with about 6-7 other women! YAY! But I still didn’t burn at that 530 calorie level today! I don’t know how I’m going to get back there, but I WILL!!
Other than those, I also did this thing called a STYKU last week, that I’ve been obsessed with since I did it! Normally, any of those specialized machines that give you more info on what’s going on inside your body make me feel bad about myself, but this one actually inspired me! Instead of our trainers taking measurements with measuring tape, this takes ALL of them in just 30 seconds. AND it’s more accurate! You stand on this platform and face a pole. The platform, then, spins slowly as you hold still for 30 seconds, and creates a 360 picture. Mine definitely didn’t make me feel great about myself, but that’s what I’m doing in this program, right? Then Justin took me through all the information it pumped out: a 13 page document from 30 seconds. Crazy, right? Seriously 19 accurate measurements, this 360 avatar, it even shows you your posture, it even gives you your risk level for heart disease and cancers based on your measurements! I’m at a moderate risk, but all I need to lose is 1.37 inches around my waist to be considered normal. Then, you can input your goals, and it’ll pump out more info! Currently I’m considered at the high end of average for my body-fat percentage (on a normal BMI scale, I’d be considered obese or close to it, so this made me feel better), and to get down to a “fit” level, I need to lose 18lbs! 18lbs? That’s TOTALLY doable! What’s even crazier, it told me that if I work out 3 days a week and try to eat between 1600 and 1800 calories a day, I’ll BE considered fit by May 28th! This year! I thought this would be a longer process than that, so this made me very motivated! So my first goal is to GET to the point where I’m considered “fit.” THEN my NEXT goal is to get to a point where I’m considered “athletic!” At the end of this Riverplex Xtreme session, we’ll do the STYKU scan again and compare my results!
SO as much as I don’t want to show this, it’ll keep me accountable to YOU, so here’s some of my STYKU info… including ALL My real measurements! I definitely do not have a thigh gap, haha.
If you’re starting to think you maybe missed the boat on an awesome program, never fear! There’s another Riverplex XTreme session starting March 29th! Find more info out about it here! I’m running out of healthy recipes, though! I don’t like to cook much, and I have the bare minimum when it comes to spices, so if you have a low-key recipe you’d like to share, I’d LOVE to hear about it!
