Dr. Joe Bennett is a musicologist at the Boston Conservatory. He studied lyrics, tempo, vocals, and music key of the top 200 Christmas songs to find out a formula to create the perfect Christmas song.

And he did!

Lyrics like “snow,” “Santa,” “home,” “peace,” and “love” were important but “Christmas” was the most important. Sleigh bells were a must, an upbeat tempo, and for you music nerds, it needed to be in a major key (I mean, duh, I feel like minor would sound creepy).

So he created the song, got the right people to sing it, the right production value, and here it is. What do you think?
