The New iPhones Were Announced Today, and Twitter Reacted

The brand new iPhones were announced today with pre-orders starting this week and the release starting the 2nd.

In my HONEST opinion, the result of the 8 is… underwhelming. First of all, this is the first time since 2009 they’ve skipped the “S” model, but the 8 has the same thought process as the “S” models. Mostly interior changes, rather than exterior. The biggest new feature, I think, is the ability for wireless charging. If you’ve already bought adapters so you could wirelessly charge, your pad should work with the new iPhone, which is great, since they’re the only phone with a different plug-in charger! It’s faster with a better camera, and is apparently designed for augmented reality, whatever that means! You can get the 8 or the 8+ for those of you who like the ph-ablet style phones. Price seems pretty consistent to what it’s been in the past…

and then…

The iPhone X was announced. In honor of their 10th anniversary, THIS is the phone you’ve heard the rumors about… Just before you start salivating, this is the one that is, indeed, $999. For. A. PHONE.

No more home button. You get home by swiping upward. No more fingerprint sensor. Just when it was finally working for me. The iPhone X will open based on FACE RECOGNITION. This is the future, guys. The whole front of the phone is the screen. With no home button, there’s a big learning curve if you want to upgrade, including multitasking. All the new features of the 8 can also be found on the X, including wireless charging and the better camera. Preorders for this one begin October 27th with shipping starting on November 3rd.

Notice they somehow forgot about iPhone 9? Twitter did.

So what do you think? Will you get the new iPhone? The 8 or will you shell out a grand for the X? Join the conversation on socials!
