Christmas Vacation is arguably one of the best Christmas movies of all time (@ me). I’ve watched it every year since LONG before it was appropriate for me to watch the movie. It was given to this world 29 years ago, and still has some of the best quotes…

One house in Austin decided it was the perfect movie to replicate for their Christmas decorating contest in their neighborhood… so they painstakingly recreated the scene where Clark is trying to put the lights on the roof and falls, too far away from the ladder, clinging to the house by only the gutter that soon gives way:

To one passerby, this looked extremely realistic, and you can see in the door camera footage that he tries to get the ladder to the guy, and when there’s no response,  he then calls the cops for help!

I feel kind of bad, but also, at least this neighborhood has someone looking out for them in case they fall off a roof, right? Check out the footage below.

I’m pretty sure that whole scenario should guarantee this house a win for the Christmas decorating contest…
