It’s been a WHILE since I carved a pumpkin, but I remember it taking a while and being a messy ordeal, what with cleaning out the “pumpkin guts.” So when my friend invited me to her Pumpkin Carving Party, I was trying to find a way to make it better! I found a battery operated pumpkin saw at the store for $7, so I nabbed that. I also wanted to win (I’m just competitive like that) so I printed out something I wanted to carve, instead of using one of the ones that come with the pumpkin tool kits! Because I’m a nerd, I went with a radio theme!
Well the battery operated saw was cool… for about five minutes, until it burned through FOUR DOUBLE A batteries in less than the time it took for me to FIND the thing at the store in the first place. I made it through opening the top of the pumpkin, and only halfway through my first shape before it died and I was back to hand carving. Plus, I had kind of a two-sided idea, so several people passed me like “are you STILL carving that thing?” Yes. Yes I am.
Here’s what my finished product looked like!
Yes… the second side says “on the air.” I told you I was a nerd. But that wall projection is pretty cool, right? The judges (the party hosts) thought so, too, and I WON the adult contest!
