While we all gear up for Thanksgiving (which is in one week), we ask you to also think about those in our community who aren’t fortunate enough to have three meals a day. Especially the our children in central Illinois.
You may not realize that someone you are friends with, or their children, aren’t getting the nourishment they need to succeed in life. And we want to make sure that everyone in central Illinois is full with food and love this holiday season.
So, all day today, join us at the Kroger on Lake Avenue in Peoria for “A Day of Stuffing!” Stop out, get your weekend/Thanksgiving shopping done (or started) and make a donation of canned goods/non-perishable food items for the 30th Annual Stuff A Bus! There will be a CityLink bus that we are filling up with your donations to restock the shelves at the Peoria Friendship house. This year, the Peoria Friendship House has served over 50,000 meals. And with your kindness, they can continue to make sure that those in need of a good meal don’t go hungry.
You can make your own donations, or get a pre-packaged bag at Kroger. These range from $3 to $10, and every bit counts.
10 tons of food is the goal!
If you can’t make it to our “Day of Stuffing,” you can still stop by our studios 120 Eaton Street to make a donation.
