There’s a ton of crossover in country music now-a-days, especially in collaborations between country artists and pop ones! Kenny Chesney partnered with Pink for what is STILL one of my favorite songs we play, Setting the World on Fire, and Brad Paisley partnered with Demi Lovato’s killer vocals in Without a Fight, and who HASN’T Florida Georgia Line partnered with at this point? Nelly, Jason DeRulo, Backstreet Boys, and as you’ll see below, now the Chainsmokers! Check out both the Country/Pop collabs from the CMT awards!
I actually really like how this sounds, but I don’t know if this would fit into the rest of the Country Radio playlist. I do hope to hear it more often, though, so if it ended up on our sister station, Peoria’s 92.3, I wouldn’t be mad about it.
Strip it Down is one of my favorite Luke Bryan songs, and while I haven’t liked much of Jason Derulo’s current stuff (like post the album with Want to Want me on it), you can’t deny he’s got a phenomenal voice, so this made me SO happy! Plus Luke Bryan’s falsetto is kind of cute.
