March into Wellness at Wildlife Prairie Park
Wildlife Prairie Park to a new event centered on the health and wellness of the Peoria community
HANNA CITY, IL – It’s March and many New Year’s resolutions of losing weight and becoming healthier have dissolved in the last two months. Wildlife Prairie Park is here to kick start those resolutions and help you put cabin fever to a rest. On March 11th, the Park will host a brand new event called March into Wellness. The Park will be open from 9am until 4:30pm and activities will run from 9am-3pm. Admission for the event will be the standard daily admission which is $8 for adults and $5 for children. All members will attend the event free of charge.
Activities for the day will be centered around health and fitness. Fun fitness kid’s games will take place in the CEFCU Children’s Heritage Area, as well as deer shed hikes, a scavenger hunt, crafts, interactive guided hikes through the animal trails lead by Park staff and so much more. The OSF Care-A -Van will be offering blood pressure checks, BMI, healthy recipe cards and wellness education all included in the daily admission from 9am-12pm. At 12pm the Unity Point Wellmobile will take over until 3pm. CrossFit of Peoria will be giving a demonstration on nature equipment and Eastside Wellness Chiropractic will provide back assessments and chair massages. Group fitness classes will take place by instructor, Michy Maloof twice during the new event. Guest should come dressed in active wear with their yoga mat for an 11am Pilates class and 1pm sculpt class. Also Don’t forget about your furry friends! They are part of the family too so Wyoming Veterinary Clinic will be providing animal wellness education to the public as well.
