Cub fans, rejoice!
The World Series Trophy is FINALLY making a stop in Peoria!
Make plans on Thursday March 9th from 1:30-3p to see it at the Peoria Civic Center in the ballroom! Take time off of work because only the first 500 fans will be guaranteed to see the trophy, and more if they can accommodate it. Parking will be free for the Civic Center lots, and overflow parking can be found throughout downtown peoria.
Doors open at 8am and the fans will be allowed inside as capacity allows. The event is free and open to the public, but the trophy will be removed by 3pm.
I actually visited it in Bloomington when it was there (I didn’t want to chance it if Peoria had been removed from the list) and as someone who has been to a few meet and greets, this was the most organize I’d ever seen it! We gathered in Redbird Arena and they let us sit in the stands in the order we came. When it was time for pictures, right on the dot, they started lining people up. Before you got up to the trophy, they had you put your coat and anything you didn’t want in the picture on a cart, which they wheeled to the other side. One picture per person or group, and then you walk over to pick up your items! You provide the camera you’d like it taken with, so you can have your pictures upon leaving! Definitely get there as early as possible, though, because if you’re arriving at 2:45p, you’re probably not going to get a picture with the trophy!
I definitely need another picture with it because I’ve lost weight since this one!
