You’ve probably heard about the weird upswing in creepy clown sightings all across the country. Shelly even blogged about it not too long ago. But since August 9th, when she wrote about Green Bay, and now, I have seen at least one sighting blog or news article roll across my newsfeed per day! WHAT. IN. THE. CLOWN. FEARING. HELL???

I found out there were clown-sighting rumors at my friend’s son’s junior high school in Bloomington today, so naturally she’s freaking out. They even have increased police presence on site, as a precaution. This is getting a little out of hand. But it’s now worse.

The Pekin Police have gotten over 100 phone calls about clown sightings in and around the area, but none have been confirmed. DO THEY JUST VANISH INTO THIN AIR? AM I LIVING IN AMERICAN HORROR STORY?? Not only that, apparently there’s this terrifying Facebook profile going around, too, friend-requesting KIDS! That’s a whole lot of NOPE!

I was never one to be over the top creeped out by clowns before, but with this weird upswing, that’s really starting to change. I’m going to have nightmares of murderous clowns creeping into my room while I’m sleeping. Anyone have a machete I can borrow?
