I’ve done a few paintings at a place in Bloomington called Merlot and a Masterpiece. Let me start by saying I do not have an ounce of painting ability in my body, but I am pretty good at following instructions, and I’ve come away with pieces that are now hanging on my wall because I’m pretty proud of them. It’s become my new obsession.

So naturally, I’m SUPER excited to find out that Art ‘N Soul is opening in Peoria Heights THIS FRIDAY! Jim and I will be hanging out for their Grand Opening from 7p-9p, and we want to see YOU!! Besides the Nash goodies we’ll have, Art ‘N Soul will also have coffee provided by Leaves and Beans of Peoria Heights and sweets provided by Trefzger’s bakery of Peoria Heights! Plus, for coming to the open house, you’ll have a chance at TONS of door prizes, including $50.00 cash, gift cards for dinner at local Peoria Heights restaurants and drawings for 2 free classes of your choice. Come hang out, admire their beautiful studio filled with paintings, possibly win something, and sign up for a class! They’re located at 4450 N Prospect, Suite C5 in Peoria Heights

Chris Chapman, one of the owners and artists, actually came from my favorite Bloomington place, so I’m confident you’ll love his stuff.

If you’re a little nervous about painting, bring your own alcoholic beverage of choice! You can DRINK and PAINT at the same time (provided you’re 21, of course). It’s such a good time for a girls’ night, a birthday celebration, a date, and SO much more. Check out the class schedule to pick your painting! .

This weekend is Mother’s Day AND Race for the Cure, so they’ve created some appropriate pieces for you to paint! What an awesome Mother’s Day present! She gets to hang with you AND take home artwork! Sign up is linked to the appropriate painting to the left or right!

It’s also a lot of fun to look at the entire class’s painting at the end. Everyone’s personalities show through and you see how they interpreted the class a little differently. You’ll see one of my friends in a couple of the pictures below LOVES spiders, so instead of the tree or the pheonix, he turned his into a spider.

Now remember, I was 100% sure this would turn into a picture that looked like a 5 year old’s finger painting. If I can do this, believe me, YOU can do this!
