I think it might be hard-coded into women’s DNA to be into shoes. They can complete (or even inspire) an outfit, build confidence, show off our style, help our goals (I’m specifically thinking of my new running shoes), and so much more. What’s NOT to love.
Another thing women tend to love is sales, so when we see awesome shoes that are on sale, it is physically impossible for us to resist. Naturally this obsession would inspire a survey to be done- full on research about women’s shoe fetishes! Chic Outlet discovered the following:
- 81% of women spend an average of two weeks a year looking for shoes. I’m not exactly sure what this one means. Like 14 days where we go “Hmm, let’s just go look at this store” or is this a very specific 336 hours of our lives where we are admiring beautiful artwork, otherwise known as shoes.
- 77% of women have a secret shoe fund. I work in radio, meaning I don’t really have enough money to have a specific fund allocated just for shoes…
- 87% of women own shoes they have worn less than 5 times Yep. Just… yep.
- 20% of women own shoes that they have never worn. This was me until I JUST moved to Peoria. I got rid of extra stuff, including the shoes I had never worn before. Never fear, though. I am a woman. I’ll buy more shoes soon.
- 33% of women wear high heels when going for a job interview. I actually did for my interview with Nash FM… but they were heeled boots. Does that count?
- 36% of women wear high heels on a date I’ve done this, too, but it depends on the height of the guy.
- 25% of women form their first impression of someone based on their shoes I don’t do this, but I look at shoes other women are wearing as if I’m shopping… ahh, that first statistic makes a little more sense now…
Do you agree with these statistics? Do you fall into them?
