After 122 years, the Bowen building is coming down. The historic Peoria State Hospital in Bartonville will be demolished later this year,

The building has a spooky history as there have been numerous reports of ghosts and other paranormal activity at the site and on the grounds.

The community has mixed feelings with some saying it should stay while others want it to go. The city council approved granting the grounds to local developer Chad Campen who plans on razing the building and then selling the materials with some money going back to the community.

Will there be something else built in it’s place? Where will the spirits reside now? Only time will tell FULL STORY
