Auditions for THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS will be Saturday and Sunday, November 14th and 15th, 2015 at 2pm both days in Kim’s Academy of Dance at 9226 N Industrial Rd in Peoria.
Please arrive on time with 32 bars to sing from an appropriate song (not from the show) that displays the best of your range and personality. An accompanist will be provided (no acapella auditions, please).
Come dressed for dance/movement. You may also be asked to read or sing material from the show. You must be at least 18 years or older.

CAST of CHARACTERS:
MISS MONA STANGLEY: Owner/Operator of the Chicken Ranch. No nonsense, but motherly and personable. An “ageless” beauty.
SHERIFF ED EARL DODD: Sheriff of LaGrange, Texas. Down home, ass kickin’ good old boy.
JEWEL: Housekeeper/guardian of the Chicken Ranch. Sassy and self-assured. African-American.
MELVIN P. THORPE: Host of “The Watchdog Report”. Brash, bigger than life, a complete blowhard.
ANGEL & SHY: The new girls. Angel is tough and street smart. Shy is gawky and, well…

GINGER: The Girls at Miss Mona’s Chicken Ranch (also double as Angelettes). All the girls must be excellent singers AND dancers.
THE TEXAS A&M AGGIES: 8 young, good looking All-American guys. Must sing, dance, and pass as football players.
EDSEL MACKEY: Editor of local newspaper. Witty and dry, serves as the show’s pseudo-narrator.
DOATSEY MAE: waitress at the local café with hopes and dreams of her own.
MAYOR RUFUS POINDEXTER: local car salesman and mayor of the town.
CJ SCRUGGS: local insurance agent and sidekick to Mayor Poindexter.
SENATOR WINGWOAH: President of the Aggies Alumni Association, servant of the people, and loyal patron of The Chicken Ranch.
GOVERNOR: Texas politician with a knack to “sidestep” issues. Full of charm, but says lots of nothin’.
The entire ensemble also doubles as REPORTERS, TOWNSPEOPLE, TELEVISION CREW, MELVIN THORPE SINGERS, GOVERNOR AIDES, CUSTOMERS and more! Cast size is large and allows for a fair amount of flexibility.
